Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Montana are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to     drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wonderful Sweet Grass / Park County scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Whitewater paddling here in the Absaroka Range is a great experience. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Not much precipitation falls here at Boulder River; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while February is typically the driest month. High temperatures at Boulder River throughout the long summer days are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's.
