The scenic beauty of Montana and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average Montana whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The wild scenery of the Absaroka Range     is great. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Speculator Creek to Chippy Park Campground section is just one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: For the period of the summer at Boulder River highs are regularly in the 80's, and the nighttime is slightly colder of course, generally in the 50's. Highs during   the wintertime are commonly in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Boulder River. It is very dry here at Boulder River typically; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; February on the other hand is the driest.
