This stretch of Boulder River in Sweet Grass County is 4.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is not the only paddling section in this river system,     there are others too. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. The Absaroka Range scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: For the period of the summertime at Boulder River highs are frequently in the 70's, and the overnight is fairly colder of course, mostly in the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Boulder River. Boulder River is close to Fuller Draw which   is positively worth going to. Boulder River gets very little rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February.
