The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. This stretch of Boulder River in Montana is 4.5 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. The river winds through the Absaroka Range and you get great scenery. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
