  The wonderful Montana scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Boulder River attract people from near and far. If you're coming from Bozeman it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Boulder River in Sweet Grass County is 4.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking
    in Montana is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The river winds through the Absaroka Range and you get great scenery. This stretch has has enough mileage, good
for a one day paddling trip. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the McLeod to Highway bridge section is just one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Great exercise and spending some quality time  
in nature have a lot of people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.

Briefly about the general area:
Have a fine hiking adventure along the Lodgepole Trail, and Natural Bridge State Park is worth taking a look at. Man, is there heaps of amusing things to do in the Absaroka Range. Going for a hike along the Black Butte Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. If you're here, you might as well visit Fuller Draw. At Boulder River you donít see much precipitation. The month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month of the year is February.
