This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night,
but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Bitterroot Range scenery is an added bonus. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other
paddling rivers. The nature scenery of Mineral County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. This section of Clark Fork in Montana is 9 miles long and has been rated as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater.
Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Clark Fork get into the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Clark Fork night low temperatures during
the wintertime are in the 10's. Clark Fork is a location that is quite waterless commonly; June is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is July. A wonderful place to pop by in close proximity to Clark Fork is Mullan Gulch.
