This section of Clark Fork in Montana is 9 miles long and it is classified as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Montana you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The nature scenery of Montana and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Fish Creek to Forest Grove section is one of them. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Not
too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wild scenery of the Bitterroot Range is great. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with
not too many other places for that. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip.
Briefly about the general area: All through the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Clark Fork. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Clark Fork are in the 10's. You might want to pay a visit to Mullan Gulch while you're here at Clark Fork.
Clark Fork is a location that is rather waterless mostly; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
