The natural beauty of Montana and the water flowing gracefully down Falls Creek make the trip here worthwhile. The beautiful Lewis Range scenery is an added bonus. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good places for that around here. This stretch of Falls Creek in Montana is 2 miles
long and it is classified as a class III-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Montana are easier than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. There are no other sections to paddle
along Falls Creek than the to Dearborn section. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.
Briefly about the general area: All through the summer highs here at Falls Creek get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Falls Creek descend
into the 10's. Not much precipitation falls here at Falls Creek; May is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Hiking along the West Falls Trail is great fun.
