The wonderful Montana scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. This section of Falls Creek is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V(V+) section of whitewater. The average Montana whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy.
Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The beauty of the Lewis Range is a great plus for this river. This section
is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There are no other sections to paddle along Falls Creek than the to Dearborn section. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.
Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Falls Creek throughout the summertime are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Falls Creek temperatures
dip to the 10's. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the West Falls Trail. Falls Creek gets very little precipitation; most of the rain falls through May; the driest month of the year is February.
