The Kerr Dam to County Road Bridge section of Flathead River in Montana is 10 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so better not forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. There are no other     stretches to paddle along Flathead River than the Kerr Dam to County Road Bridge stretch. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. The campgrounds here at Flathead River are pretty good. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the summertime highs here at Flathead River reach the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; night lows at Flathead River through the winter frequently   fall into the 10's. At Flathead River you don’t see much rain; throughout the month of June you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture.
