  This stretch of Flathead River - Middle Fork in Montana is 26 miles long and is a class I-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Montana and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Montana are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are a few other sections in this river system
    that can be paddled as well. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from
the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The wild scenery of the Lewis Range is great.

While you're here at Flathead River - Middle Fork you can take a hike along the Big River Trail; on a fine day you can take a hike along the Giefer Twentyfive Mile Creek Trail. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Lewis Range.
