  Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Montana are easier than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The nature scenery of Flathead County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The Schafer Meadows to Bear Creek section of Flathead River - Middle Fork in Flathead County is 26 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-IV section. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this
    area has a pretty small number of paddling places. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camp stove. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book
a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The beauty of the Lewis Range is a great plus for this river. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well.

So much fun stuff to do in the Lewis Range, not enough time. There are splendid places to look at along the Big River Trail; don't leave Flathead River - Middle Fork without first going for a hike along the Giefer Twentyfive

Flathead River - Middle Fork is a good site of typical rainfall; all through December this area sees the most snow while April is commonly the driest month. High temperatures at Flathead River - Middle Fork during the months of summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 20's while Flathead River - Middle Fork night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
