This stretch of Flathead River - Middle Fork in unknown County is 31 miles long and it is classified as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Montana and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Montana is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river
for a while will have you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in
advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The river winds through the Lewis Range and you get great scenery. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so better bring your camping gear along.
