  The natural beauty of -blank- County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. This section of Flathead River - Middle Fork in Montana is 31 miles long and has been rated as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. There arenít any hotels right nearby but
    if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions
for lots of people. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Bear Creek to Moccasin Creek stretch is just one of many. The wild scenery of the Lewis Range is great. info on that. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear.

Briefly about the general area:
The Grant Ridge Trail is a pleasant hiking trail near Flathead River - Middle Fork; close by you hit upon the Boundary Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more enjoyable things to do in the Lewis Range. Flathead River - Middle Fork gets a typical amount of rain. The month of December is the wettest with most of the snow; the driest of the months is April.
