The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Montana are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. If you're coming from Kalispell it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The scenic beauty of unknown County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Moccasin Creek to West Glacier stretch is just
one of them. The campgrounds here at Flathead River - Middle Fork are pretty good. This section of Flathead River - Middle Fork in unknown County is 9 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors
will make you glad you came. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. The Lewis Range scenery is wonderful.
