If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The West Glacier to Blankenship Bridge stretch of Flathead River - Middle Fork in -blank- County is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. The scenic beauty of Montana and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. If you're coming from Kalispell
it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there
are others too. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. The beauty of the Lewis Range is a great plus for this river.
Briefly about the general area: Flathead River - Middle Fork is mostly a quite arid place; December is the wettest month with most snow,
and the driest of the months is April. A short spree to Rubideau Spring is always worthwhile, and Glacier National Park is a good local destination. This spot, the Lewis Range, has so much outdoors exciting things. Throughout the summer highs here at Flathead River - Middle
Fork reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's while Flathead River - Middle Fork overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's.
