  The Big Prairie to Mid Creek stretch of Flathead River - South Fork in Flathead County is 31 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II+ section of whitewater. The natural beauty of Flathead County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Whitewater paddling here in the Lewis Range is a great experience. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors
    are great reasons to come. This is the only paddling section along Flathead River - South Fork. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so better bring your camping gear along. Since you're on this
site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Montana are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy.
