  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This section of Flathead River - South Fork in Montana is 31 miles long and it is classified as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other places. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because
    it is a very popular destination. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The Big Prairie to Mid Creek section is the only paddling section along Flathead River - South Fork. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby
campground. Now this is a pretty long section, so it looks like you will be camping out. When you're paddling down a Lewis Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The wonderful Montana scenery and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.

There's brilliant hiking along the Catchem Creek Trail, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Flathead River - South Fork; Haystack Mountain Trail is a glorious local trail. You simply should
