  The nature scenery of Montana and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. The West Fork Gallatin to Greek Creek stretch of Gallatin River in Gallatin County is 11 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The West Fork Gallatin to Greek Creek stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The starting point is not too far from Bozeman, if you're not familiar
    with the area there's a road map further down the page. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The average
Montana whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
Through the warmest time of the year at Gallatin River highs are generally in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 20's; overnight lows at Gallatin River during the winter mostly descend into the 0's.
Gallatin River is pretty arid usually; May is when you get the most rain here while February is commonly the driest month.
