  The Greek Creek to Spanish Creek stretch of Gallatin River is 13 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Gallatin County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other spots for that. If you're coming from Bozeman it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can
    see on the road map further down. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A good workout and
a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well.

Briefly about the general area:
Gallatin Canyon is a good place to stop at close by. Not much precipitation falls here at Gallatin River; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month of the year is February.
All through the warm days of summer at Gallatin River temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Gallatin River are in the 10's.
