CLASS II 18 miles
The Foundation Creek to Tobacco River section of Grave Creek is 18 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Montana and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Grave Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Foundation Creek to Tobacco River stretch is the only one. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no
problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling
rivers. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners.
