CLASS II-III     45 miles
  This section of Judith River is 45 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The natural beauty of Montana and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. There arenít any
    hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be
paddled as well. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The put-in is not too far from Havre, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so make sure you pack enough food along  
with your camping gear. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Judith River; Wagon Wheel Trail is a splendid local trail. Summertime highs at Judith River typically tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while Judith River nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. At Judith River you donít see much rain. May is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
