The scenic beauty of Flathead County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The Upper stretch of Logan Creek in Flathead County is 4.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Montana is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of
people. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. The river winds through the Bitterroot
Range and you get great scenery. Logan Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Upper section is the only one. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
Briefly about the general area: During the summertime months highs here at Logan Creek get into the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. Through the winter the highs are typically in the 20's; night lows at Logan Creek all through the wintertime mostly descend into the 10's. Logan Creek gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the rain is May while October is ordinarily the driest month.
