The average Montana whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nature scenery of Flathead County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. The Lower stretch of Logan Creek is -blank- miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The Bitterroot Range scenery is wonderful. You might have to settle for a hotel
a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are no other sections to paddle along Logan Creek than the Lower section. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great
reasons to come.
Briefly about the general area: Logan Creek is mostly a reasonably dry spot; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. High temperatures at Logan Creek all through the summer months are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while Logan Creek overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
