  If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other places for that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The wonderful Montana
    scenery and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. This stretch of Madison River in Montana is 3 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according
to American Whitewater.

Briefly about the general area:
At Madison River throughout the summer highs are in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Madison River are in the 10's. There is a great hiking trail next to Madison River called the Kirkwood Trail.
Madison River is pretty dry commonly; the wettest month of the year is usually June, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
