The beautiful scenery of Montana and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this     area has a pretty small number of paddling places. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. The Madison Dam to Route 84 stretch is the only paddling stretch along Madison River. The campgrounds here at Madison River are pretty good. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. If you're coming from Bozeman it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Madison River dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.
