This stretch of Mulherin Creek in Park County is 9 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The campgrounds here at Mulherin Creek are pretty good. Whether     you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other places. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are no other stretches to paddle along Mulherin Creek than the Yellowstone National Park to Yellowstone River stretch. Briefly about the general area: Mulherin Creek is regularly a rather dehydrated spot; most of the rain falls during May, and February is the month with the least moisture. The Sportsman Lake Trail is a tremendous hiking trail near Mulherin Creek. High temperatures at Mulherin Creek all through the summer are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's.
