This stretch of Stillwater River in Stillwater County is 3.5 miles long and it is classified as a class I-V section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Stillwater County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or     both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. This is a somewhat short section so better bring some good walking shoes. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. There's camping available near Stillwater River. The wild scenery of the Absaroka Range is great. Briefly about the general area: Put some time aside to spend at Woodbine Falls if you're here at Stillwater River. During the summer months highs here at Stillwater River get into the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days   of the winter come with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Stillwater River fall into the 10's. Stillwater River is pretty dried up frequently; May is when you get the most rain here while February is commonly the driest month.
