The Woodbine Campground to below Chrome Mine stretch of Stillwater River in Stillwater County is 3.5 miles long and is a class I-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Woodbine Campground to below Chrome Mine section is one of
them. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The nature scenery of Stillwater County and the playfulness
of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. When you're paddling down a Absaroka Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.

Woodbine Falls is always fun to check out. Stillwater River is usually a pretty dried up location; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February. At Stillwater River through the warm days of summer highs
are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Stillwater River drop into the 10's.
