The wonderful Stillwater County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting     or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The beauty of the Absaroka Range is a great plus for this river. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: At Stillwater River during the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Stillwater River throughout the winter regularly dip into the 10's. Stillwater River is pretty dehydrated commonly; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Absaroka Range.
