Says Nathan Johnson, Montana paddler The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The natural beauty of Montana and the cool fresh     water attract people from near and far. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. This section of Sunday Creek in Flathead County is 14 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. This is the only paddling stretch along Sunday Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here. Briefly about the general area: Not much precipitation falls here at Sunday Creek; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. At Sunday   Creek all through the summertime highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Sunday Creek are in the 10's.
