If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The Canyon Section stretch of Trout Creek in Superior County is 2 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The wonderful Superior County scenery and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: Summertime
| at Trout Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are frequently in the 30's, and overnight lows all through the wintertime for Trout Creek tend to be in the 10's. At Trout Creek you don’t see much rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February.
