The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Yaak Falls to Kootenai River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The wonderful Montana scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Yaak River is right by the Tepee Mountain Trail, and do take a hike on the Pine Creek Trail. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; night lows at Yaak River through the wintertime usually sink into the 20's.
