The nature scenery of Montana and the water flowing gracefully down Yellowstone River make the trip here worthwhile. The starting location is a short drive from Billings, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Montana are easier than the national norm, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. | about the general area:
During the summertime months highs here at Yellowstone River get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's with temperatures at Yellowstone River dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. A great spot close to Yellowstone River is Brockway Coulee.
At Yellowstone River you don’t see much precipitation; through May this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. | |
