The Hangman's Bridge to Gardnerville stretch of Carson River - East Fork in Nevada is 20 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. The nature scenery of Alpine County and the water flowing     gracefully down Carson River - East Fork are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Hangman's Bridge to Gardnerville section is one of them. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is wonderful. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Nevada is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners.
