The natural beauty of Alpine County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. And of course,     there are campgrounds nearby. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Gardnerville Ranchos, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. When you're paddling down a Northern Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Hangman's Bridge to Gardnerville section is one of them. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
