Nevada whitewater - Colorado River, Mohave / Clark County Mohave / Clark county, Black Canyon section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I     30 miles   The beautiful scenery of Mohave / Clark County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Nevada tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good places for that around here. Now this is a pretty long section, so better bring your camping gear along. Getting some     good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The campgrounds here at Colorado River are pretty good. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Black Canyon stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Briefly about the general area: Roaring Rapids is a good local attraction, and the views at Lake Mead National Recreation Area will blow your mind. Colorado River is a location that is quite dried out typically; the month with most of the rain is August, and June meanwhile is the driest month. This river is so wonderful. High temperatures at Colorado River through the summertime are in the 100's. Throughout the moonlight   hours it's regularly in the 70's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Colorado River are in the 30's. Roaring Rapids is always fun to check out, and Burro Wash is not far at all.
