This stretch of Colorado River is 30 miles long and has been rated as a class I section by American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. The wonderful     Nevada scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Black Canyon stretch is one of them. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: A short visit to Roaring Rapids is always worthwhile; you ought to go to Burro Wash when you're here. This is a great river. Summertime at Colorado River comes with high temperatures in the 100's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 50's while Colorado River nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. Around Colorado River   you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is June. Roaring Rapids is a lovely place to explore while you're at Colorado River, and a spree to Lake Mead National Recreation Area is worthwhile.
