The average Nevada whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The nature scenery of Nevada and the water flowing gracefully down Truckee River attract people from near and far. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. This stretch of Truckee River is 8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. The campgrounds here
at Truckee River are pretty good. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is a great experience. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. The Verdi to Mayberry Park section is one of many paddling
sections in this river system. The starting point is not too far from Reno-Sparks, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other spots for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

High temperatures at Truckee River through the days of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Truckee River.
