paddling down a Northern Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled
as well. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other places for that. This section of Truckee River in Nevada is 10 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater.
Briefly about the general area: At Truckee River through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. Highs through the
wintertime are frequently in the 40's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Truckee River tend to be in the 20's. It is very dry here at Truckee River commonly; during the month of January you get the most rain around here while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
