The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. The nature scenery of Nevada and the water flowing gracefully down Truckee River attract people from near and far. The Truckee River Whitewater Park Reno stretch of Truckee River in Washoe County is 0.5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The river winds through the Northern Sierra Nevada and
you get great scenery. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. This is
a very short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
