The beautiful scenery of Washoe County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. The average Nevada whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.     There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. If you're coming from Reno-Sparks it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. The beautiful Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus. This is an extremely short section so better bring some good walking shoes.
