The put-in is not too far from Berlin, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Ammonoosuc River in New Hampshire is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run
it on an afternoon. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Bretton Woods to Twin Mountain stretch is just one of many. The wild scenery of the White Mountains is great. The campgrounds here at Ammonoosuc River are pretty good. The rivers for whitewater
rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The natural beauty of New Hampshire and the cool fresh water will make you feel great.
