The Bretton Woods to Twin Mountain stretch of Ammonoosuc River is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The average New Hampshire whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The put-in location is a short drive from Berlin, as you can see on the road map further down. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. No need to look hard for hotels,
but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The natural beauty of New Hampshire and the beautiful
way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great scenery.
Briefly about the general area: Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the White Mountains. If the weather is fine here at Ammonoosuc River, you can go for a hike along the Hale Brook Trail, and the Mount Rosebrook Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby.
