The put-in is not too far from Berlin, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Ammonoosuc River in Coos County is 7.3 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. This
is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. Whitewater

Going for a hike on the Gale River Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and you can go for a hike on the Garfield Trail.
