Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.     This stretch is very short so better bring some good walking shoes. The wonderful Coos County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Androscoggin River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The beautiful White Mountains scenery is an added bonus. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: At Androscoggin River through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Androscoggin   River temperatures plunge to the-10's. Androscoggin River sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
