The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This stretch of Androscoggin River is 17 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. This
is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The natural beauty of Coos County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons
enough to come here to paddle. The beauty of the White Mountains is a great plus for this river. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Berlin, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.

you get the most rain around here while February is commonly the driest month. During the months of summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Androscoggin River. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are usually in the 20's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Androscoggin River tend to be in the 0's.
