The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Berlin, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to     one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The wonderful Coos County scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. When you're paddling down a White Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: A wooded neighborhood   in close proximity to Androscoggin River is Thirteen Mile Woods. Androscoggin River gets much water; throughout August this area sees the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. Throughout the months of summer, highs mostly are in the 70's at Androscoggin River. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Androscoggin River.
