The beautiful scenery of Coos County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in is not too far from Berlin, as you can see on the road map further down. This river system has     a few good paddling sections and the Pontook section is one of them. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The campgrounds here at Androscoggin River are pretty good. The wild scenery of the White Mountains is great. The average New Hampshire whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners.
