The starting location is a reasonable drive from Keene, as you can see on the road map further down. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This section of Ashuelot River in New Hampshire is 3.5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There aren’t any hotels right nearby
but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. There are plenty of other sections in this
