The beautiful scenery of New Hampshire and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New Hampshire you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This stretch is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. You
might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are campgrounds quite near the
river where you can camp. The Jenness Beach section is the only paddling section along Atlantic Ocean. This stretch of Atlantic Ocean is 1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I(V) section.
Briefly about the general area: Atlantic Ocean sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most of the rain falls during November while January is commonly the driest month. Summertime highs at Atlantic Ocean frequently tend to be in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are
usually in the 30's with temperatures at Atlantic Ocean dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. During your stay at Atlantic Ocean do go to nearby Jenress Beach, and you are in the neighborhood of Lockes Neck since you're here. This is such a great river. Time spent at Bass Beach near Atlantic Ocean is always good, and a glorious site nearby is Rye Ledge.
