The Dorchester section of Baker River - South Branch is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Lebanon, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of Grafton County and the cool fresh water beats anything. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great scenery. This river system has a few good
paddling stretches and the Dorchester section is one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting
your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving.
