New Hampshire whitewater - Beebe River, White Mountains, Grafton County Grafton county, Sandwich Notch to Campton Hollow section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-IV     5 miles   The scenic beauty of Grafton County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The Sandwich Notch to Campton Hollow section is the     only paddling section along Beebe River. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. This stretch of Beebe River is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. If you're coming from Laconia it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beautiful White Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: Beebe River gets a common amount of yearly rain; August is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. For the duration of the warm days of summer here at Beebe River, high   temperatures usually reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Beebe River descend into the 0's. Having a nice time in the White Mountains is uncomplicated. The Ridgepole Trail is a good hiking trail near Beebe River, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Cascade Trail.
