The nature scenery of Merrimack County and the water flowing gracefully down Blackwater River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The starting location is a short drive from Concord, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is the only paddling section along Blackwater River. There aren’t any hotels right nearby
but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the
great campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The Route 127 to Snyder's Mill section of Blackwater River in New Hampshire is 2.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.
