The Ledges stretch of Bloods Brook in New Hampshire is 0.25 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Lebanon, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is the only paddling stretch along Bloods Brook. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night,
but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is an extremely short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The
wonderful New Hampshire scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy.
Briefly about the general area: If you're interested in cool geologic marks, try Willard Ledge. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Bloods Brook, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's
