This stretch of Cascade Brook in New Hampshire is 0.9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. The average New Hampshire whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The campgrounds here at Cascade Brook are pretty good. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better
reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful scenery of New Hampshire and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. There are no other stretches to paddle along Cascade Brook than the Lincoln stretch. The beautiful White
Mountains scenery is an added bonus. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. This is a very short section so better bring some good walking shoes. The starting location is a short drive from Berlin, as you can see on the road map further down.
Briefly about the general area: This river has it all. The Cascade Brook Trail is a glorious hiking trail in close proximity to Cascade Brook, and no need to travel far to explore exciting stuff like Old Man of the Mountain. The amount of rain
that falls at Cascade Brook is close to the national average; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is generally the driest month. On a brilliant day at Cascade Brook you can take a hike along the Basin Cascade Trail, and Indian Head is a tremendous place
to have a look at while in the vicinity. Through the summertime months highs here at Cascade Brook reach the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Cascade Brook. And
if that's not sufficient there's plenty more cool things to do in the White Mountains. Near Cascade Brook you stumble on nice places like The Flume, and the skiing at Cannon Mountain is good.
