If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New Hampshire you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. If you're coming from Berlin it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The scenic beauty of New Hampshire and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. This section of Cascade Brook in New Hampshire is 0.9 miles long and
it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This section is very short so no need to bring snacks. The White
Mountains scenery is wonderful. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is the only paddling stretch along Cascade Brook. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots.
Briefly about the general area: This river is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Basin Cascade Trail, and don't leave Cascade Brook without first going for a hike along the Cascade Brook Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy
the White Mountains. Everybody close by loves skiing at Cannon Mountain, and some attention-grabbing geology is available here, Indian Head is right here. A normal amount of rain falls here at Cascade Brook; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February
is typically the driest month. If you're here at Cascade Brook, checking out Old Man of the Mountain is a must, and you could always explore The Flume. Summertime highs at Cascade Brook usually tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Cascade Brook are in the 0's.
