The wonderful New Hampshire scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This stretch of Contoocook River in Hillsborough County is 3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular     destination. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: Gotta ski! Pats Peak is a fine site to do that. Contoocook River gets a normal amount of yearly rain; most of the rain falls during November; the driest of the months is January. Summertime at Contoocook River comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
