The Swift Diamond to Wentworth Location section of Diamond River is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. Not too
many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. When you're paddling down a White Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This is the only paddling section
along Diamond River. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The natural beauty of Coos County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Diamond River generally tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Diamond River tend to
be in the-10's. Diamond River gets much water; the month with most of the rain is August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Yeah, come up here to the White Mountains for a good time. If you're hooked on cool geologic marks, try Linda Ledge. Dart Wentworth Spring is a splendid local attraction, and Alice Ledge is an exciting location to visit while at Diamond River.
