If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New Hampshire you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The wonderful New Hampshire scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. This section of Fowler River is 5.9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The river winds through
the White Mountains and you get great scenery. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling
trip. The starting location is a short drive from Concord, as you can see on the road map further down. This is the only paddling stretch along Fowler River. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: Fowler River gets a normal amount of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain; January is when it's the driest. On a good day at Fowler River you can take a hike along the Manning Trail, and what would a location like Fowler River be without out of the ordinary nearby
traits like Simmons Ledges. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the White Mountains. While you're here at Fowler River you can take a hike along the Melton Falls Trail. For the duration of the warm months, highs usually are in the 80's
at Fowler River with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Fowler River.
