This stretch of Fowler River in Grafton County is 5.9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The scenic beauty of Grafton County and the water flowing gracefully down Fowler River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of
people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The beauty of the White Mountains is a great plus for this river. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general
area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The starting location is a short drive from Concord, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Alexandria stretch is the only paddling stretch along Fowler River.
Briefly about the general area: Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Manning Trail, and Simmons Ledges is something you shouldn't miss if you're here. An average amount of
rainfall falls at Fowler River; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime highs at Fowler River regularly tend to be in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the
50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Fowler River. Be careful coming to the White Mountains, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Hiking along the Melton Falls Trail is brilliant fun.
