The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The wonderful New Hampshire scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The put-in is not too far from Concord, as you can see on the road map further down. The Halls Brook Road to Highway 25 section of Halls Brook is 2.6 miles long and has been determined by American
Whitewater to be a class V section. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The beautiful White Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Halls Brook doesn't have a lot of paddling sections,
the Halls Brook Road to Highway 25 section is the only one. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

White Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. The yearly rainfall here at Halls Brook is about average; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The Rattlesnake Mountain Trail is a great hiking trail
close to Halls Brook; close by you stumble on the Stevens Brook Trail which is a great hiking trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Halls Brook, and the nighttime is rather chillier of course, regularly in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's while Halls Brook overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's.
