The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Laconia, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Little Suncook in New Hampshire is 3.1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but     if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Little Suncook doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Northwood to Gossville section is the only one. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The wonderful Merrimack County scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Briefly about the general area: An average amount of rainfall falls at Little Suncook; through November this area sees the most rain; January on the other hand is the driest. Put some time aside to spend at Steeles Falls since you're here at Little Suncook, and there are brilliant locations to look at along the Campground   Trail. Throughout the summer here at Little Suncook, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Little Suncook dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
