The Pine Hill Road and Route 25 section of Lovell River in New Hampshire is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. If you're coming from Laconia it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The beautiful White Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The Pine Hill Road and Route 25 stretch is the only paddling stretch along Lovell River. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers.
There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll
have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The scenic beauty of Carroll County and the water flowing gracefully down Lovell River will make you feel great. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon.

rain here, and the driest month is January. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Lovell River get into the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are generally in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Lovell River.
