The nature scenery of New Hampshire and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The Highway 49 Bridge to Campton stretch of Mad River in New Hampshire is 7.8 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The starting point is not too far from Laconia, as you can see on the road map further down. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Whitewater paddling here in the White Mountains is a great experience. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. There are
campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too.

20's; overnight lows all through the wintertime for Mad River tend to be in the 0's. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. Yeah, come up here to the White Mountains for a glorious time. Don't leave Mad River without first going for a hike along the Welch Mountain Trail; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Waterville Valley since you're here.
